That and Spa Sisters and Spa Sluts, other terms we considered were not available.
So here it is the blog for Spa Sluts, Sisters, Friends who like to meet once a month or so at a spa somewhere around the world, sip spa drinks (my fellow princesses prefer wine) and get spoiled.
I created it to show my two Temecula friends how easy it is to create a blog and name it what you want.
Hopefully they will contribute and we will migrate to our own URL.
Watch for future posts and reviews from Betty Lou, Barb and Melody.
A month ago they talked me into joining the South Coast Winery Grapeseed Spa club. It's a pretty good deal: one free service a month, unlimited use of the fitness center, workshops - free, and lots of pampering. Best of all I get to see them once a month and figured if nothing else, I could spend time with my two friends.
Betty Lou - owner of CC & Co in Temecula was my first friend in Temecula. Together we forged an 18-month quest to conquer the Temecula Newspaper Industry with cutting edge journalism. The newspaper we worked for started and ended in 18 months, but the friendship lasted. Together with Richard Murphy, Brigit Poole, BL and I, we wrote, typeset, and pasted up a weekly community newspaper. We followed the controversy over building Temecula Valley High School. At that time the Lake Elsinore School Board wanted to build the next high school in the Elsinore area. We covered the naming of the Temecula appellation and helped stop the building of sewer percolation ponds on the shoreline of Lake Elsinore.
Barb I first met while helping an ad rep create ads for "Barb's Ballooning Affair." Over the year's she made balloon arches for events, created decor, sent balloon arrangements and mini hot air balloons to media around Southern California so they would cover my events, and eventually gave up her business to go back to school. She's a dental hygienist now.
Together we have vowed over the 30 years of knowing one another, to meet regularly - uh - we didn't. Until Grapesseed came along. We've met twice in a year - that's saying something. I'm sure my hell months will interfere as all the events start rolling through - Bluegrass, Western Days, Street Painting, Plein Air Festival, Balloon & Wine Festival, and Hot Summer Nights. They all fall within about 13 weeks of each other, with five of them within the same eight weeks. Event Season - when I need a spa and pampering the most - leaves little time for Spa Days. Hopefully Barb and Betty Lou will start blogging - we've vowed to try spas around the world.
Hmm... I fear we may never leave Grapeseed. Diane and the staff there are just too good to us.
